You will learn by doing
Experiential learning is a core element of the liberal arts and sciences education you will receive at Newman University.
There are opportunities for you to create experiences that match your interests and style of learning.
Newman Studies Program
Learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom.
The Newman Studies Program is an innovative, educational opportunity exclusively offered to Newman University students that prepares Newman graduates to adapt to a rapidly changing world in which future professions do not yet exist.
All the courses in the Newman Studies Program have been designed to produce critical thinkers and are team-taught by faculty members from across the university.
Learning Communities
In your learning community, you will see how different fields of study relate to one another and how different frames of reference can combine to help solve common problems.
And in the process, you will form deeper relationships with other students and faculty members.
These relationships help our students stay in school and persist well after graduation.
You will develop skills that you can apply to the workforce, make important networking connections, and figure out just what the future may hold for you.
Experiential learning opportunities include:
- Research
- Internships
- Student conferences
- Recitals, performances, and art exhibits
- Academic and case competitions
