Honors Program

The Honors Program is fun. It is not just more work. It is not just like added stress. It is fun. You meet a lot of great people. You play some awesome games. You have great traveling experiences. It's fun.

In the Honors Program at Newman, it's designed for high achieving and high potential students who want to make a difference in their world. Honors students take classes-- classes that help develop the skills they will need to flourish once they're done. Classes that help them understand the world a little bit better that will allow them to make a difference in the community around them.

The Honors Program has been valuable because on top of the learning subjects more in depth, I've also had a chance to practice my leadership. In the honors program, I've been a facilitator for the TNT freshmen groups, and so it's been a great opportunity for me to get to know the younger like students coming in, and getting to be like more of a leader kind of a mom to them. So it's been it's been really cool.

I really think Honors Program has just helped me become a better student, because it challenges me to like have organized time, and figure out how I'm able to do a lot of certain things at the same time. Also just trying to keep up with my regular classwork.

Honors education at Newman is an active education. You'll be in the laboratory. You'll be doing projects. You'll be participating in discussions about important ideas. You'll be making presentations. You'll be playing games, all of them designed to give you the best possible education you can handle.
